Inside a company, your work has no price tag.
Your salary covers everything. The vendor you renegotiated. The audit you cleaned up. The process you fixed after two other people had failed at it. The junior you turned into a performer. All of it sits inside one figure that was decided by your grade and your years of service, not by what that work is worth to somebody who badly needs it.
The moment the same work is done for a business that is not your employer, it stops being a duty and becomes a service. A service has a market rate.
That is the entire difference between a salary and a consulting fee. Nothing about your ability has to change.
You do not need a new degree, a new qualification or a new career. You need to take one thing you already do well, describe it in the words of the business that needs it, and put a number next to it. That is what these three evenings are for.
Look at your own week
What you did last Tuesday is what somebody else is trying to buy.
These are ordinary tasks of senior professionals, written on the left the way you would describe them, and on the right the way a buyer describes them.
Your version of this list will look different. The pattern will not. If even one of those rows felt familiar, you have already found the thing you can sell. You have simply never called it that.
Three honest reasons
Why this has never occurred to you before
It is invisible to you
You have done it so often that it feels ordinary. What is ordinary to you after twenty years is scarce to a business that has never had a person like you in the building.
You were trained to look for employers, not buyers
A job is advertised, so you apply and wait. A consulting need is never advertised. It sits quietly inside a business and goes to whoever turns up and names the problem correctly.
You assume it starts after retirement
Almost everyone who builds a practice in their fifties says the same sentence to us. They wish they had started in their forties, while the network was still warm and the salary was still coming in.
Before you decide this is not for you
This is not a plan to quit your job.
We are not asking you to resign, take a risk, or bet your family's stability on an idea. We are asking you to open a second track next to the one you are already on, and to run both until one of them clearly outgrows the other.
No resignation
You keep your salary, your designation and your provident fund. Everything we teach is built to run in the hours you already have free.
No capital
No office. No company registration on day one. No product to build, no team to hire, no tools beyond the laptop you own. The only real investment is your time.
Nothing that puts your job at risk
There is a great deal you can legitimately do even under a strict employment contract. Unpaid advisory roles, guest lectures, sharing your insights publicly, building a documented track record. On Evening 3 we show you exactly where that line sits.
No waiting for retirement
The best time to build this is while you are still working, still respected in your field, and still connected to the people who become your first clients.
The Second Track method
Four steps, taken in order, alongside your current career.
Nobody moves from employee to consultant in one jump. It happens in a sequence, and the sequence is what almost everyone gets wrong.
Identify the expertise you already have
Not your job title. The specific problem you have solved so many times that you now solve it without thinking. This is the hardest step and the one most people skip.
You finish with: one sentence naming what you sell.
Package it into one service with a price
One clear offer, written for one type of business, with a defined outcome and a number attached. Not a list of everything you can do. One thing somebody can say yes to.
You finish with: a one page offer and a rate.
Find the businesses that need it
They sit in known places. Companies without a senior person in your function. Startups whose founders have never run your department. Businesses abroad that cannot afford a full time head. Expert networks that pay by the hour. And your own network, which is far larger than you think.
You finish with: a named list and the message to send.
Build an independent track record
Two or three documented pieces of work, done properly, with a result you can describe. Once you have that, the conversation changes permanently. You stop asking for work and start being approached for it.
You finish with: a ninety day plan of a few hours a week.
The agenda, hour by hour
What happens across the three evenings
Live online with faculty in the room. Nine hours in total. You do the work in the session, not afterwards.
What senior people actually sell
- How to find the sellable expertise buried inside your daily work, whatever your function or industry
- The four things every business pays an outsider for, and which one your experience fits
- Why the same hour of your judgment carries two very different prices in India and abroad
- How people from operations, HR, finance, manufacturing, sales, quality, projects, banking, teaching and compliance have each turned their function into a service
- Choosing your buyer type, so that everything after this points at one kind of company
You walk out of Evening 1 with: the one thing you sell, named in a single sentence.
Packaging it and putting a price on it
- Writing your offer as one page a business owner can read and act on
- The four ways advice is bought: paid hourly calls, a scoped project, a day rate and a monthly retainer
- What to charge for the first assignment, and how to raise it once you have proof
- Using AI to do the research, drafting and preparation that used to need a team, so this fits into the hours you actually have
- Validating your offer with three real conversations before you invest another month in it
You walk out of Evening 2 with: your offer written down and priced.
Finding the businesses and getting the first client
- Where the buyers actually are: expert networks, fractional and interim platforms, Indian companies bringing back experienced professionals, small businesses abroad, founders, funds and your own former colleagues
- The outreach message that gets a reply, and the follow up that does not irritate anyone
- How to run the first call so that it ends in a small piece of paid work rather than a polite thank you
- Building your first two case studies legitimately, without going anywhere near your employment contract
- Your first ninety days, written out as a weekly routine that fits beside a full time job
You walk out of Evening 3 with: a named list of businesses, the message to send them, and your ninety day plan.
Everything included
What you are getting, and what it would normally cost.
We have listed it plainly so you can judge it for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Every figure above is what the same piece of work costs when you buy it on the open market. We are not asking you to pay any part of it. The only thing we ask is that you turn up on all three evenings, on time, and do the work in the room.
People who did exactly this
None of them learned a new skill. They sold the one they already had.
Different cities, different functions, different ages. Watch them say it themselves.
This is not wishful thinking
Companies have stopped hiring senior people. They have started renting them.
A business that needs a senior head for four days a month no longer creates a position. It buys the four days. That is the shift, and it is measurable.
The question everybody asks first
What this kind of work pays
Four ways it is bought. You will almost always begin with the first two.
| How it is bought | Indian clients | International clients |
|---|---|---|
| Paid hourly call | ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 an hour | USD 400 to 1,200 an hour on expert networks |
| Scoped project | ₹75,000 to ₹1,50,000 for a defined piece of work | USD 1,500 to 4,000 a day for advisory work |
| Monthly retainer | ₹50,000 to ₹3,00,000 a month | USD 8,000 to 18,000 a month for a fractional head |
| Across the market | Rates rise sharply once you have two documented results | USD 213 an hour on average. 52.8 per cent clear USD 100,000 a year |
These are market benchmarks, not promises. The realistic path, and the one we teach, is one paid assignment first, then repeat work from the same company, then a monthly arrangement, and only later two or three running side by side.
Be honest with yourself here
We would rather have the right 500 people than any 500 people.
You are in the right room if
- You have 10 or more years of experience, in any function or any industry
- You are working, and you want a second income built on what you already know
- You are retiring soon, or already retired, and want to keep using your head for money
- Juniors, friends and former colleagues already ask for your opinion for free
- You want clients of your own rather than another employer
- You can put aside a few hours a week, consistently
Please leave the seat for somebody else if
- You are looking for a guaranteed income or a placement promise
- You want results without putting in the hours
- You are not willing to speak to a stranger about your own work
- You cannot attend live, since the work is done in the room
Your industry does not matter. We have seen this work for people from manufacturing, operations, HR, finance, sales, supply chain, quality, projects, banking, government service, teaching, healthcare, law and technology. What matters is that you have solved real problems for a long time.
500 seats · registration closes when they are gone
Reserve your seat for the three evenings
We cap the room at 500 so that questions actually get answered and the work actually gets done live. Once the seats are taken, registration closes and the next camp will not be in September.
Our side of the deal
If you attend all three evenings and do the work in the room, you will leave with your service written down, a price on it, and a named list of businesses to send it to. If you do not, write to us and tell us where we fell short. We read every one of those.

Questions people ask us
Before you register
Do I have to quit my job?
No. Most people begin beside a full time role with a few hours a week on one client. We will show you what you can do while employed and what to hold back on. The decision to leave, if it ever comes, is one you take much later and from a position of strength.
I am not from consulting, finance or IT. Will this work for me?
Yes. Operations, manufacturing, sales, HR, quality, supply chain, projects, banking, teaching, government service, healthcare and compliance all have buyers. In the sessions we work on your domain, not on a generic example.
I am in a tier two city, not Mumbai or Bengaluru. Does that matter?
No, and this surprises people every single time. The work is delivered over a video call and a document. Raunak Mutha runs 199 clients from Jodhpur. Kumudini Saxena runs more than ten international clients from Bhubaneswar. Bhavana Sharma works with US clients from Indore. A business owner in Ohio or Dubai cannot tell whether you are sitting in Gurugram or Guwahati, and in our experience they never ask. What they check is whether you have solved their problem before. There is no relocation, no travel and no office involved.
Why would a company abroad hire me instead of somebody local?
Three reasons, and clients usually give them in this order. First, they cannot find the person locally. Advanced economies are short of experienced people in exactly the functions you have been running for twenty years. Second, they cannot justify a full time salary for the need they have. A small business that wants a finance head for four days a month will never open that position, so a local full time hire is not what you are competing against. The realistic alternative for them is nobody at all. Third, the price, which is the next question.
Am I only getting the work because I am cheaper? Does that not make me a second choice?
The cost gap is real and there is no point pretending otherwise. A fractional finance head in the United States bills USD 8,000 to 18,000 a month. An Indian professional doing the same scope of work starts well below that and is still earning several times an Indian salary for the same hours.
But notice what that gap actually does. It gets you the first meeting. It is not what keeps you. Nobody renews a retainer for six months because it was cheap. They renew because the work was right, the reporting was clean and the problem stopped coming back. The price difference buys you the chance to be tried. Your twenty years are what keep you there, and your rate rises quickly once you have two results you can point to.
The arbitrage works on both sides, which is why it is stable. USD 2,000 a month is a small line item for an American small business. In your account it is roughly ₹1.7 lakh.
Will I have to work at night to serve clients abroad?
For most markets it is the opposite of a problem. US business hours fall in the Indian evening, and the Gulf, the UK and Europe overlap with your working day or sit just after it. That is exactly when a working professional or a retired one is free. Almost none of this requires you to be awake at three in the morning.
I am 55. Is it too late to start?
The market described on this page pays for accumulated judgment. Decades are the qualification. Several of the people who do best at this begin after retirement, and their only complaint is that they did not begin five years earlier.
My employment contract does not allow outside work. What then?
A great deal of what builds a consulting practice is not employment at all. Sharing your insights publicly, guest lectures, unpaid advisory roles with early stage companies, building a documented track record. On Evening 3 we take you through exactly where that line sits and what you can do without going near it.
Is it really free? What is the catch?
There is no catch and no payment at any stage of the three evenings. It costs us nothing extra to have you in a live online room, and the people who benefit most from these sessions are often the ones who would have hesitated at a fee. We would rather have the right 500 people in the room than a paying five thousand.
Are the sessions recorded?
All three evenings are live, with faculty in the room. The work is done live and the questions are answered live, so attending is what produces the result. You keep the session notes and worksheets either way.
How much time will this need after the camp?
A few hours a week, taken consistently. The ninety day plan you leave with is built around that and nothing more.
Do I need to be good with technology?
No. Nothing across these three evenings requires coding or a technical background. Where we use AI, we use it the way you would use a capable assistant, and we show you on screen exactly how.
